He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Carpenter Ruffin; his parents, Mack Thomas Ruffin, Jr. and Margaret Lenore Denson; and his sister Mary Lenore Ruffin Westbrook. He is survived by: his son Dr. Mack T. Ruffin IV (Kathy Carter); his grandsons, Noah and Sean (Julia); his daughter Margaret Ruffin Horvath; his grandson Stephen; his daughter Susan Ruffin Clark (H. Duffey Clark, Jr.); his granddaughter Shelby (Andy); his great grandchildren, Caden and Kennedy; his granddaughter Samantha (Chris); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Sophie. He is also survived by four nephews and numerous cousins.
