He was predeceased by: his parents, Sol Axel and Marjorie Axel; his brother Mitchell "Corey" Axel; and his pet Vaux. He is survived by: his daughter Anne Axel (Jon); his sister Madge Lee Spector (Louis); and his cousins, Jane Bolle, Nicole Levenberg and Karin Seidenstein (Thomas).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Virginia German Shepherd Rescue or Mission K9 Rescue.
