She was predeceased by: her parents, George Prestridge and Hilda Prestridge. She is survived by: her husband Dr. James B. Slack, Sr.; her children, James B. Slack Jr. (Molly), Joel S. Slack (Tonya), Jonathan S. Slack (Erica) and Sherrie Slack Holland (Mike); her grandchildren, Brennan (Corey), Eilie (Dakota), Michael, Heidi, Amelia, John (Elizabeth), Kenneth (Alyssa), Mary, Allen, Danielle, Christy, Vivian and Gabriel; and her great grandchildren, Julian, Jordan, Logan, Jane, Hazyl and Esther.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Simms Center at Lakewood Retirement Community (1900 Lauderdale Dr, Richmond, VA 23238).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
