She was predeceased by: her husband Shirley Eugene Hicks, Sr.; her parents, Charlie Armstrong and Hannah Armstrong; her siblings, Ella Mae, Lucy, Nellie, Katie, Letch, Johnny and Roy; her nephew Butch Armstrong; and her pet KittyBoo.
She is survived by: her son Shirley Eugene Hicks, Jr.; her great-niece Tiffany Craig; and her grandchildren, Akshita, Rayanesh Sharma, Puneet, Megha Sharma, Liz Hagan and Mildred Young.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Laurel Hill Global Methodist Church or Varina Episcopal Church, 2385 Mill Rd, Richmond, VA 23231.
