He is survived by: his wife Jana Chili; his children, Stewart McDermott, Tirana (Craig Neiswanger), Kyle (Jade McDermott) and Andrew (Adrienne McDermott); his grandchildren, Matthew McDermott, Amaziah McDermott and Brooke McDermott; his siblings, Sandy Dorbu, Veta McDermott, Ronald McDermott and Dahlia McDermott; his nephew Christian Jackson; Krystal, Mya, Isaiah, Mikey and Lilliana.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Bon Air Baptist Church (2531 Buford Rd, Richmond, VA 23235). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wellesley Hoa Community Center (3601 Lauderdale Dr, Richmond, VA 23233).
