Today, we choose to remember Rakwan for the joy he brought, the love he gave, and the memories he leaves behind. We remember the young man who made people laugh, who embraced life with curiosity and fearlessness, and who meant so much to so many people.
Though his time here was far too short, Rakwan's impact was not small. He will always be loved, always be missed, and always be remembered.
Rakwan Alford leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will carry his memory forever. He is survived by his loving parents, Rasool Alford and Shaunda Parker; his devoted grandmother Gloria Anderson; grandparents, Delores Parker and Fred Womack; his beloved siblings, Rasool Alford-Lucas, Malik Foster, twin sister Ryonna Alford which he shared a special and unbreakable bond, Samya Alford, Kevin Dandrige, Nakiyah Alford, Ny'eima Alford, Rakeem Alford, and Kyla Alford; dear cousins Aaliyah Alford and Cameron Wright. Rakwan held an important place in the hearts of all his siblings, family members, and friends.
Professional services entrusted to Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where viewing will take place Friday, May 22, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and where a funeral service will be held that same day at 1 p.m.
