It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roddy Read (Richmond, Virginia), who passed away on May 9, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph C. Read and Grace Jachim Read. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Ryan Read (Melissa), Alexis Read (Kevin Debieve), Robert Read and Lesley Stanley (Michael); his grandchildren, Tyler Read, Cecilia and Violet Stanley; his brothers, Rory, Randy, Rhys and Russell; and his stepsister Barbara Mueller.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Roddy by living boldly, making your life count, and always taking time to tell a great story — preferably one with a laugh at the end.
