He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Ward, and Russell Ward, Sr.; his sister Beverly Vaughan; and his mother-in-law Barbara Greene. He is survived by: his wife Francine Ward; his children, Rodric Ward (LaCoya), Russell Ward III (Rachel) and Chelsea Ward (Amy); his granddaughter Remi Ward; his siblings-in-law, Angela Greene, Cheryl Carter (Jerald), Barry and George Greene; his sibling's children, Jamar Greene and Tameka Vaughan Dorsey; his great-nieces, Cydni and Chloe Dorsey; and his cousin Angela King Pugh. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
