He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Newcomb and Betty Newcomb. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Newcomb; his children, Ryan Newcomb (Sarah) and Ross Newcomb (Natalie); his grandchildren, Lucy, Brynn and Charlotte; and his siblings, Ripley Newcomb (Judi) and Susanna Drumheller (Neil). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.
