She was predeceased by: her parents, Verner Emerson and Mildred Emerson; and her siblings, Billy Emerson, Evelyn Ferrell, Barbara Agee and Kenny Emerson.
She is survived by: her husband Thomas King; her daughter Karen Saffy; her son-in-law Mark Saffy; her grandchildren, Allison Taylor, Ryan Saffy and Patrick Saffy; and her brother Jerry Emerson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nelsen Funeral Home (4650 S Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Washington Memorial Park (6217 Memorial Dr, Sandston, VA 23150).
