He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lemuel and Lila Mae Brooks Brown; his siblings, Charles Jones, Ruth Williams and Rosa Lee Harris; his sisters-in-law, Julia Jones and Betty Brown; and his siblings' children, Juanita Williams, Ruth Anne Walker and Clinton Williams, Jr..
He is survived by: his brothers, Lemuel "Baby Lem" Brown and Rev. Russell Brown; his sister-in-law Alice Walker Brown; his aunts, Ida Brown and Mary Simon; and his friend David Shaw. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
