Wayne leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Wayne’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Wayne will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell M. T. Whitman and Edith Frances Whitman of Richmond, VA.. He is survived by: his wife Joy Erikson Whitman; his children, Michael (Erin), Stephen and Christine Johnson (Christopher); and his grandchildren, Seth and Kayla. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
A reception will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Redeemer Lutheran Church (9400 Redbridge Rd, North Chesterfield, VA 23236).
