He was predeceased by: his grandson Buddy Smith; his significant other Diane Reed; his parents, Buddy Smith and Annie Bell Parks; and his brother Seyvelle Parks.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Annie Bell Parks; his children, Debbie Arnold of Greenwood, Tynkie Reed-Countee (Tim Countee), Corey Reed (Nadine Reed) and Damien Reed; his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jaylin, Eliana, Ke'Andra and Terrence; and his siblings, Sandra Childs-Green and Ronnie Childs.
