He was predeceased by: his parents, Linwood P. Brooks and Eva McIlvain (Thompson); and his mother-in-law Thelma Dunivan. He is survived by: his wife Diane E. Brooks; his daughter Shelia Gillen; his son-in-law Junie Gillen; his daughter Crystal Brooks; his grandchildren, Andrew Gillen (Nina), Will Gillen (Regan), Aidan Smith, Caroline Smith and Alyssa Smith; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Zawodny. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bliley's-Chippenham Funeral Home (6900 Hull St Rd, Richmond, VA 23224). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
