He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lewis and Virginia Fulghum Motley; his grandparents, Willie Bowie, Essie Gravatt Motley, James Barden and Virginia Ridout Fulghum; his brother Donald Lee Motley (Marlene); his nephew Donald Lee Motley, Jr.; and his great-nephew Joshua Lee Motley.
He is survived by: his niece Donna Motley Brown; his great-nieces, Abbey Wooten (David) and Holly Cascell (Joey); his great-nephew Christopher Brown (Alaina); his goddaughter Mary Edith Charity; and his friends, Rosa M. Carter, Lucille and Robert Cole.
