He was predeceased by: his wife Lavelle; and his son Michael S. Sheffield. He is survived by: his son Steven M. Sheffield (Judy); and his grandchildren, Brett (Wendy), Lara (Eric), Randy (Missy), Kristi (Chris), David (Tracy), Henry (Jessy) and Justin (Nikki). He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center.
