He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel Boone McKinney, Jr. and Matilda Jane McKinney; and his siblings, Margaret of Roy, JD, Garnett, Agnes and Wanda.

He is survived by : his wife Mary McKinney of Jackson; his daughters, Debbie Walters (Mark) of Jackson, Ohio, Melanie Kalinowski (Mike) of Madison, NC and Candi Moore (Butch) of Jackson; his grandchildren, Mark Walters (Karly), Dustin Walters (Mercedes), Devin Walters (Ashley), Misty Mbenga (Jojo), Valorie Powell (Andrew), Byron Conley, Daniel Kalinowski (Katherine), Josh Kalinowski, Derek Moore, Sheldon Moore (Kaylee) and Megan Moore (AJ Meldick); and also Juan Elias. He is also survived by 31 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
