Though Douglas may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his wife Alma "Blue" DeVoe; his parents, Ruth DeVoe and Dale DeVoe; and his brother David DeVoe (Cindi). He is survived by: his children, Deborah DeVoe Foley (Grant) and Douglas DeVoe, Jr. (Trini); his grandson Jordan Miller; and his sister-in-law Patsy Cox. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in loving memory of Douglas D. DeVoe, Sr. to the American Legion Pannill Post No. 42 in care of Wright Funeral Service, 1425 Greensboro Road, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
