We are sad to announce that on May 6, 2025, at the age of 85, Josephine Slaydon Barnes of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Herman Slaydon and Irene Fair Grogan Slaydon; her husband Kennon Curtis Barnes; her sister Georgia Clear (Donald Clear); and her brother-in-law Jerry Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Bonnie Sirt (Mike) and Kennon "Ken" Barnes, Jr.; her sister Norma Jean Carter; her grandchildren, Savanna Gwynn (Daniel) and Garrett Sirt (Emily); and her great grandchildren, Delaina Gwynn, Brodie Gwynn, Joella Sirt and Harper Sirt.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Service Chapel (1425 Greensboro Rd, Martinsville, VA 24112). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Roselawn Burial Park (103 Clearview Dr, Martinsville, VA 24112).
