He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Lewis Staton and Carrie Lee Richardson Staton; his wife Judy Devada Poteat Staton; and his sister Gracie Staton East. He is survived by: his children, Steve Staton, Scott Staton (Shannon) and Sheila Schubert; his niece Debra Johnson; and his close friend Brady Taylor. He is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
