She was predeceased by: her parents, John C. Dodson, Jr. and Thelma Slayton Dodson; and her sister Joanne Cates. She is survived by: her husband Warren R. McDowell; her children, Melissa Alvarez (Jorge), Vincent McDowell, Brian McDowell (Johanna), Eric McDowell and Scott McDowell (Kassandra); her grandchildren, Jordan Alvarez, Jason Alvarez, Justin Alvarez, Ben McDowell, Brian McDowell, William McDowell and Mollie Johnson; her great grandchildren, Julian Johnson and Josie Johnson; and her brother John C. Dodson, III.
