She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernst Fischer and Margarete Regina Ebert Fischer; and her brother Phillip Spies. She is survived by: her husband Roland Edward Slaughter; her sons, Michael Slaughter of Danville, VA, Richard Slaughter (Jackie) of Ringgold, VA and Steve Slaughter (Stephanie) of Grandy, NC; and her sisters, Anita Bray and Maria LaChey of Danville, VA.. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
