It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Alan Guthrie of Ripplemead, Virginia, who passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Arthur and Mary Hetherington Guthrie; his son William Alan Guthrie; his siblings, Ruth, Donald and Barry; his pet Lady; his wife Maria Teresa "Thez" Floresca Guthrie; his sisters, Betsy and Norma; and his pet Buddy.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Kendall Funeral Home (605 Snidow St, Pembroke, VA 24136). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
A message celebrating his contributions to friendship, science and wildlife will be presented by his friend and colleague, Steve Vinson; and songs presented by his dear friend, Aileen Magdayao Holloway.
