We announce the death of Barbara Kays Fisher in Roanoke, Virginia, who passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 95. She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Kays and Kenny Kays of Warrenton; and her brother William "Pop" Kays of Ashburn, Virginia.. She is survived by: her daughter Nancy Chewning (Tim) of Roanoke; her grandsons, Christopher (Elysia Chewning) and Tyler (Candy Chewning); her great grandchild Levi of Vinton; her nieces and nephews, Amy Holt (Dave), Todd Kays (Sue), Susan Thews (Marvin) and Paul Gordon; and her sons-in-law, Bobby, Tracy, Tom and Robin Chewning.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Simpson Funeral Home. A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bonsack Baptist Church (4845 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Bonsack Baptist Church, 4845 Cloverdale Road, Roanoke, Virginia, 24019.
