He was predeceased by: his son William Gene Stewart; and his son-in-law Russell A. "Rusty" Snyder. He is survived by: his wife Fay; his daughters, Brenda Nichols (Kenny), Sherry Snyder and Sandi Stewart; his grandchildren, William Stewart (Melinda), Jamie Miller (Chaz), Jessica Ericsson (Jonathan), Ashley Ragan (Tim), Beth Wilson (Seth), Kristie Fisher (Shane), Justin Nichols (Courtney) and Jordan DiGenova (Alex); and his great grandchildren, Kelsey Stewart, Charlie, Mason, Bennett Miller, Maren, Marlowe Ericsson, Charleigh, Russ, Able Ragan, Lennon Wilson, Kaleb, Aiden Fisher, Isaiah Nichols and Baby DiGenova.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oakey's North Chapel (6732 Peters Creek Rd, Hollins, VA 24019). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the ministry of Roanoke Valley Christian Schools.
