He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Sweet and Pauline Sweet; his wife Gaynell Edward Sweet; his siblings, Herbert Sweet (Hub), Irene Church (Rene) and Joyce Mullins; his siblings-in-law, Marcella Sweet, Gertrude Sweet, Mack Church and Raymond Johnson; his nephews, Roger Sweet and Rich Johnson; and his niece Brenda Sweet.
He is survived by: his siblings, James Sweet and Virginia Johnson (Jen); and his brother-in-law Kenneth Mullins.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Mausoleum Chapel of Old Dominion Memorial Gardens (7271 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019).
