He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude William Burns, Sr. and Virginia Lucille Burns; his sister Carolyn Leigh McMullen; his grandson Wyatt Samuel David Burns; and his nephew Harvey Noel Plecker, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Karen Scott Burns; his children, Chris Anthony Burns (Tara), Cyrus Samuel Burns, III and Heather Lindstrom (Rob); his grandchildren, Caybll, Brooklyn, Kentlee and Lakyn; his siblings, Claudia Jo Terry, Elizabeth Ann Clements and C. W. Burns; his sister-in-law Cindy Scott; his great-nephew Austin Dean; and his great-nieces, Mikayla McMullen, Karleigh McMullen and Cassandra Scott.
