He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Murray and Sarah Murray; and his siblings, Ed Murray and Mary Lou Rakes. He is survived by: his wife Martha Gray; his sons, Doug Jr. and Brian (Lorie); his grandchildren, Spencer, Doug III Cameron (Katelyn), Marlee, Meredith, Lauren, Collin, Megan and Maleigh (Brendan); and his sister Fran Arfaras. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Northview United Methodist Church (Plantation Road at Ridgecrest Dr., Roanoke, VA 24019). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
