With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas Perry Tatum in Roanoke, Virginia, who passed away on May 8, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Tatum and Vera Tatum; and his siblings, Edward Tatum (Dorothy), Gaines Tatum (Virginia), Cecil Tatum (Lois), Joe Tatum and Jenny Tatum.
He is survived by: his wife Della Tatum of Paint Lick; his children, Lisa Simmons (Andy) of Paint Lick, Valerie Tatum of Bluefield, Amber Deel (Dan) of Lebanon, Virginia and Steven Tatum of Johnson City, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Ashley Stillwell, Sydney Youther, Peyton Simmons (Bailee Wiley), Cade Simmons (Halle Hilton) and Drew Simmons; his great grandchildren, Aiden Harmon, Mason, Mahaela and McCoy Youther; and his siblings, Ken Tatum and Helen Steele. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
