As we bid adieu to Edna's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Edna has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Dooley and Emma Dooley; and her husband H. Roscoe Gillespie. She is survived by: her son Alvin L. Gillespie (Suzie); her great grandchild Robert Scott Brunner; and her friend Millie Rhodes. She is also survived by three sisters, two brothers, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakey's East Chapel (5188 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
