Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Eugene leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hammond Eugene Bowes and Mable Catherine Short Bowes. He is survived by: his wife Susan Ellen Baker; his children, Robert Bowes (Candice), Jeffrey Bowes, Christopher Bowes (Tara), Edward Bowes, Kimberly Windham (Melvyn) and Kenneth Bowes (Amy); and his brother Preston Ray Bowes. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oakey's South Chapel (4257 Brambleton Ave, Cave Spring, VA 24018). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (3808 Brandon Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24018).
