She was predeceased by: her husband William E. Bowling (Bill); her parents, Frank Stafford and Nina Hetherington Stafford; and her siblings, Donald Stafford, Maurice Stafford, Emma Ann S. Steele and Charlotte S. Sartin.
She is survived by: her daughter Sydney B. Duncan; her son-in-law Andy Duncan of Frostburg, MD.; and her sibling's children, Debbie Clevenger, Susan Steele-Ward, Cindy Counavelis, Melissa Light, Judy Strickland, Leah Bolling, Tim Steele, Jon Sartin, Phillip Steele, Chris Stafford and Bill Wilkes. She is also survived by great-great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Simpson Funeral Home (5160 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Northminister Presbyterian Church (3911 Greenland Ave NW, Roanoke, VA 24012).
