With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gretchen Arthur Jirout of Roanoke, Virginia, who passed away on October 17, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Gretchen may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Jirout. She is survived by: her sons, Michael Jirout (Missy) and David Jirout (Eva).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakey's South Chapel (4257 Brambleton Ave, Cave Spring, VA 24018). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery (5070 Cove Rd, Roanoke, VA 24017).
