He was predeceased by: his parents, Robie James Nelson and Lorene Gravitt Nelson; his sister Shellie Nelson Bellairs; and his siblings-in-law, Delbert Victor Bellairs and Sharon Kizer Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian Davis Nelson; his children, Jeffrey Allen Nelson (Fiancé-April Feeser) and Laura Nelson Woods (Patrick); his brother Ira Brann Nelson; his siblings-in-law, Ellen and Wright Sizemore; his granddaughters, Mollie Mckenzie Woods, Emily Anne Woods and Ashley Paige Woods; and his caregivers, Karen Fujiwara, Clara Micolupo and Lisa Vineyard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Simpson Funeral Home (5160 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
