He was predeceased by: his wife Maxine G. Mason; his parents, John B. Mason and Estelle D. Mason; and his siblings, Paul G. Mason (Eunice), Iris M. Mattox (Paul), 'Polly' M. Gamble (John) and Barbara M. Clarkson (Pete).
He is survived by: his brother Don L. Mason (Jean); his sons, James M. Mason Jr. (Lisa) and Richard S. Mason; his grandsons, Derek B. Mason (Courtney) and Carter B. Mason; and his great grandchild Beau C. Mason.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Evergreen Burial Park, Chapel of Light (1307 Summit Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24015).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cave Spring Baptist Church, 4883 Brambleton Ave., Roanoke, VA 24018.
