With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Richard Frazier (Roanoke, Virginia), born in Lebanon, Tennessee, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. James Richard left this world on October 7, 2025 at the age of 77, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Claudia, Roy Frazier, May and Floyd Vandagriff; his parents, Jim Roy and Audrey Frazier; his brother Randall Frazier; his brother-in-law Harry Williams; and his sibling's children, Wayne Gathje and Claudette Lasser.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Frazier; his siblings, Sherry Williams and David Frazier (Freda); and his children, Wendy Downing (Mike), Shari Williams (Greg), Scott Gathje (Chandra), Jamie Frazier, Jeremy Frazier (Becky) and Casey Frazier (Norah). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakey's East Chapel (5188 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bonsack Baptist Church (4845 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A burial will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Final Resting Place National Cemetery (18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172).
In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Girls in Action and Royal Ambassadors programs at Bonsack Baptist Church.
