It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jim Emmett West of Roanoke, Virginia, born in Covington, Virginia, who passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Jim may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jim touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his father James Emmett West. He is survived by: his wife Edwina "Wendy" Persinger West; his mother Lois Waggoner Callender; his stepchildren, Ricky Chittum of Covington and Trina Wolfe of Covington; and his siblings, Troy Cleve Wright of Roanoke and Michelle Tasker of Rocky Mount, VA. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
