We announce the death of John R. Kelley of Roanoke, Virginia, who passed away on June 17, 2026, at the age of 75. John R. will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen G. "Red" Kelley and Mildred Poff Kelley; and his brothers, Donald W. "Don" Kelley and Owen G. Kelley, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Kelley; his sons, John R. "Duke" Kelley and Andrew S. Kelley; his stepsons, Toby Duncan and Scot Duncan; his grandchildren, Christopher Duncan, Sarah Akers, Caleb Duncan, Jordan Duncan, Kayla Duncan, Brandon Duncan, Scarlett Duncan, Jenna Kelley, Trey Kelley, Drew Kelley and McKenzie Kelley; his sister-in-law Judy Kelley; and his close friends, Barton Reynolds and Chester Melvin.
