He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank E. Hale and Ethel Haddon Hale; and his children, Susan Hale Young and Wesley Hale. He is survived by: his wife Bettie R. Hale; his daughter Linda Hale Woods (Chad); and his cousin Harley Thorne (Jean). He is also survived by six grandsons; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the East Roanoke Camp of the Gideon's International P O Box 373 Roanoke, VA 24003 or to the music ministry at Bonsack Baptist Church.
