She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Ellen Smith and James Oscar Newman; her husband Robert McCluer Paxton; and her siblings, Harold Newman, Hugh Newman, Edna Harris, Howard Newman, Hazel Newman, Harry Newman and Greg Newman.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Corling (Albert) and Robert McCluer Paxton Jr. (Cathy); and her sibling's children, Steve Harris (Lisa), Paul Newman, David Paxton (Vickie), Joe Paxton (Annette), Jim Paxton (Hilda), Karen Fridy (John) and Martha Nowlin.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church (1837 Grandin Rd SW, Roanoke, VA 24015).
