He was predeceased by: his parents, William Matlick and Harriet Matlick; his siblings, B. K. Matlick and Sharlene Matlick Gordon; and his brothers-in-law, Bennie Scarton Jr. and Harold Gordon.
He is survived by: his siblings, Ramona Matlick Scarton and Gareth; and his sisters-in-law, Jo Matlick and Mariann Matlick. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and their 16 children.
The family suggests donations to Virginia Tech Athletics to honor Kirby Matlick and his love of the Hokies.
