He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Goins Polar; his sons, Richard Polar (Katie) of Largo and Jonathan Polar (Emily) of Roanoke, Virginia; his grandchildren, David Polar (Emily), Joshua Polar, Melody Polar, Micaiah Polar and Gloria Polar; and his sister Agnes Lemmens of Algoma, Wisconsin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
