She was predeceased by: her parents, Josephine Merryman and Walter Merryman; her brothers, Billy, Bobby and Jack Merryman; and her former husbands, Col. Robert Whitesell and Joe Chaney.
She is survived by: her children, Robin Whitesell (Leslie), Lillian Lehman (Bob), Martha Young, Betsy Whitesell and Mary Margaret Isbell (Rick); her grandchildren, Robby Whitesell, Hannah Young, Sarah Workman, Joseph Young, David Whitesell, Rebecca Copeland, Carter Lehman, Susannah Murry, Lillian Isbell, Merryn Isbell and Ruby Isbell; and her great grandchildren, Evan Whitesell, Oliver Workman, Rosalie Workman, Shelby Copeland, Eliza Young and Jacob Copeland.
In lieu of flowers, Patsy has asked that donations be sent to either The Trent Education Fund (its within her church at Second Presbyterian) or to Good Samaritan Hospice at 4751 Cove Rd, Roanoke, VA 24017.
