We are sad to announce that on October 12, 2025, at the age of 94, Marion Sutton Maloney of Roanoke, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Hodges Sutton and Ruby Balance Sutton; and her husband John Russell Maloney. She is survived by: her daughters, Linda M. Osborne (David) of Mableton, GA, Debbie M. Yates (Paul) of Charlotte, NC and Janet M. Powell (Rick) of Mooresville, NC; her grandchildren, David Osborne (Cris), Micah Osborne, Katie Todd (Steve), Matthew Yates, Derek Yates, Jonathan Powell (Erica) and Ashleigh Carosella (Josh); her sisters, Barbara S. Adkins of Mardela Springs, MD, Marjorie S. Evans (Jay) of Tyler, TX and Frances Keel of Kinston, NC; and her caregivers, Helena, Jenny, Anna, Monique and Patricia. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Simpson Funeral Home (5160 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, St. Judes Children's Hospital, or Good Samaritan Hospice.
