He was predeceased by : his parents, Milton Lewis Sr. and Thelma Hurd. He is survived by : his wife Vicki Breeden; his children, Brent Steven Hurd of Geneva, FL, Lindsey Hurd Layman (John) and Joshua Marc Hurd of Alexandria, VA; his grandson Luke Henry Layman; and his siblings, Milton Hurd, Jr. (Dolores), Nancy Wertz (Robin), Karen Hurd (Angie) and Victoria Hurd.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Oakey's East Chapel (5188 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019).
