With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Natasha Petersen (Roanoke, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 9, 2025 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire her loved ones, keeping Natasha's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While her presence may be gone, her impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Russian and Alexandra Akchoorin; and her stepfather George Akchoorin. She is survived by: her sons, Don Petersen of Roanoke and Kent Petersen (Cecilia) of Knoxville, TN; her grandsons, Erik Petersen (Jamie) and Nick Petersen (Emily); and her great grandchildren, Avery and Connor.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakey's Roanoke Chapel (318 Church Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Evergreen Burial Park (1307 Summit Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24015).
