He was predeceased by: his former wife Diane Rush Hindenlang; his parents, Wilhelm Hindenlang (Gertrude) and Dora Hupe; and his brother Detlef Hindenlang. He is survived by: his children, Linda Austin, Robert Hindenlang (Angela), Reinhard Hindenlang and Leigh Anne Hindenlang; his grandchildren, Tyler Austin (Meghan), Emilie Hindenlang, William Austin, Gabriel Hindenlang and Angus Hindenlang; his great grandchild Evan Russell; his close friend Ron Davis (Angie); and his siblings, Uli Hindenlang (Simone), Martin Hupe (Rita) and Uta Poezevara (Jean Francios).
