He was predeceased by: his parents, William T. Hughes and Mildred Kennett; and his brother William T. Hughes Jr. of Monticello. He is survived by: his wife Juanita; his sons, Richard Jr. (Jamie) and Jeffrey; and his granddaughter Brittnie.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First U/ Methodist Church (125 W Main St, Salem, VA 24153).
