He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Bernice Havens Carey; his children, Vickie Deaner, Ricky Nance, Jean Delieto and Dorothy Nance; his grandson Matthew Nance; and his parents, Cabble Carey and May Carey. He was also cherished by several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:15 PM at the Oakey's Roanoke Chapel (318 Church Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016). A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Evergreen Burial Park (1307 Summit Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24015).
