He was predeceased by: his wife Reba Spickard Metz. He is survived by: his children, Sue Harris, Gary Metz (Mary Pat) of Roanoke, VA. and Lori Roberts (Pete) of Estero, FL.; and his grandchildren, Bob, Erika Metz Hannon (Jacob), Rowyn, Saige, Emery, Gared, Jarom, Marissa Harris Krey (Ben), Jonah and Alex Robert Ellsworth.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (4608 Brambleton Ave, Cave Spring, VA 24018). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Habitat for Humanity of the Roanoke Valley, or your favorite charity.
